Development models
Stages and tasks
There are many models describing the recommended steps in development of high quality learning resources.
Many are variations of the ‘ADDIE’ model for the systematic design of instruction, named from the stages in the process:
- Analysis
- Design
- Development
- Implementation
- Evaluation
An extended and detailed version of the ADDIE model has been used on this site for presenting a guide to developing assessment strategies for e-learning. The templates can also be used for designing learning and assessment as an integrated project. See Assessing online.
