Diploma of E-learning

Tropical North Queensland TAFE - Alison Gotts.

Approach

The Diploma of E-learning is a fully online course which blends project-based, discovery and collaborative learning approaches. A key feature is facilitated peer-to-peer communication using the WebCT tools, together with regular email and phone interaction, to create a vibrant learning community. While the learning community provides support and motivation, learners are expected to manage their own learning in an independent study environment.

Design

In the story Alison provides a number of 'quick tips' for facilitating an online course and building a successful learning community.

Comments “The web has meant that we can offer this course to a group who are facing similar training needs, but are scattered across the country. And that we can offer learning interactions to inspire and motivate students – they are able to form a cohesive learning community with people they would otherwise never meet, instead of working in isolation” Alison Gotts
