This is a role-play simulation about sexual harassment in the workplace.
The purpose was to raise awareness of sexual harassment policy and procedures.
It was a first attempt at designing a role-play.

To
gain access to the role-play
NOTE: Please
do not post anything – this is for demonstration
purposes
only!
Here’s
how to access it and have a look around:
Step
1:
Click
on this URL
http://www.fablusi.com/default2.asp?simID=rpsim00000123M1B
If
it doesn’t
work do this:
Go to www.fablusi.com
Cut and paste the SimID below into the login space and click submit
: rpsim00000123M1B
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
Step
2:
Log
in using the following:
Username:
guest1
Password: demo1
Explore
the environment and read some of the input.
This
login gives you the perspective of a moderator – who can observe
and access all the different spaces within the simulation. You may
be interested to read the interactions in the CONTROL ROOM. This
is the private space for
the
moderators who can discuss things privately behind the scenes.

|
Step
3:
Now
explore the same simulation from a player’s perspective.
Log in again using the following:
Username:
marie
Password: yakka
This
is the role of Anna Leska, the Equity and Social Justice
Manager.
Notice
what is the same and what’s different to what a moderator
sees.

How
the role-play process works
As
a player, you are first assigned a role. Then you log on and get
a
ROLE
PROFILE which is for your eyes only. Have a look at
Anna Leska’s
ROLE PROFILE under the Welcome message in the
left hand navigation bar.
Your
first task is to embellish that role and bring it to life without
losing the integrity of the role. Find and click on the

button
down the bottom and find Anna Leska. Once the book icon
appears – it
can take a minute or two – click on it and see how
the person who played Anna EMBELLISHED her profile to make
her
into a “real” person
that the other players can read about and interact with.
The
setting for Christmas Party is the Ausis Institute of Technology.
Have a look at these different spaces within the Ausis Institute:
- This lets roles know where they fit in.

- Only the moderators can see this space. What is the purpose
of the Control Room?

- Who can go there? Why do you think this room was included?

- Most role-plays have a space like this where news releases
can be accessed.
The purpose is to inform people of the
progress and trigger more action.

- Most role-plays have a public space where all roles can interact.

- Both these spaces had restricted access. This reflects
real life. Do YOU have access to Executive Management
conversations?

- Not all spaces have to be there at the start of a role-play. The
Debriefing Room
is often introduced after the role-play
is finished.
This is the place
where players can debrief their character.
Within the Fablusi
system, this is done “In
Character” (IC). Debriefing Out of
Character (OOC) is just as important as
this is where the learning points are drawn
out and new insights made. Never
underestimate this phase. Debriefing OOC
often takes place F2F.

Plotting
and planning behind the scenes

This
is an internal email system where a role can access all the ‘sim-mails’ sent
to them

This is where you can send ‘sim-mail’ to any character
in the roleplay. This is for the purpose of achieving the goals set
down for the role.

You can book a chat and invite specific roles to participate. This
is often for behind the scenes plotting and planning.

Individual players have access to their own space for keeping notes
and tracking
their progress. If one role is shared, this is where
updates and
collaboration
takes place.
